Ted Cruz: ‘I’m going to pay to air Jimmy Carter attacking me.’

Consider Texas Sen. Ted Cruz pleased with the news that former President Jimmy Carter picked Donald Trump over him in the Republican presidential contest.

“Get the video, I want the video. I’m going to pay to air Jimmy Carter attacking me,” Cruz said to a crowd of several hundred in Nashua, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Carter, a Democrat, said he expected Hillary Clinton to win the party's nod. But when the discussion turned to the GOP race, he surprised many in Britain’s House of Lords on Wednesday when he said, if forced, he would choose the brash billionaire over the firebrand tea party favorite.

“The reason is, Trump has proven already he’s completely malleable,” Carter said. “I don’t think he has any fixed (positions) he’d go the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right wing policies he’d pursue if he became president.”

We always figured this would soon be coming to a campaign ad near you.
